Accreditation
High Point Fire Department is Internationally Accredited through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) and Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). This is an ongoing adoption of a model that enables HPFD to work towards continual self-improvement in every aspect of the Department.
A community risk analysis, standard of cover analysis, an internal self-assessment and continued growth are all key components to the accreditation model. Along with a peer review and checks and balances by the Commissioners, accreditation is a detailed evaluation of the Department, assuring the public that the services provided are appropriate and to a high-level of standing, identifying and creating a system to develop strategies and plans for growth, and documentation of policies and procedures for the entire Department.
High Point Fire Department was awarded
accredited status in 2016 and was recertified in 2021 for another five years.
