[ARCHIVED] Art Force

artforce

Art-Force Incorporated is a non-profit tax-exempt 501c3 organization that stimulates and diversifies socio-economic development in rural and distressed neighborhoods. As civic curators, we revitalize and transform communities through physical and artistic investment. We ally artists, designers, and creative thinkers with entrepreneurs, small businesses, educational institutions, and local agencies in cross-current partnerships to solve problems, push boundaries, and tangibly acknowledge the power of creativity.

Purpose:
An Art-Force consultant, Janet Kagan's,  will be visiting us here in High Point.  The Southwest Renewal Foundation and its partners hope to attract a broad diversity of artists, designers, civic leaders, members of the arts, market authority, community organizations and neighborhood associations who represent a cross section of High Point's core city population to participate in a series of presentations, discussions, and dialogues on the potential of public art for High Point's core city revitalization and future economic development. Through shared collaborations and discussions during the week  of February 6-10, we hope to imagine a series of public art projects for High Point to build upon our City's existing efforts and those in the southwest quadrant, gain a better understanding of the role public art can play in urban revitalization, especially in economically depressed core city areas, and express better visually High Point's key role as a center for design.
