The City of High Point would like to invite the public out to our free, family friendly, Public Services Awareness Day Event on Wednesday, June 7th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The focus of the event will be to share information about how the city is maintained and operates every day.
Come learn answers to questions such as:
Where does my drinking water come from and how does it get to my house?
Why do I need to recycle?
Who paves the roads that we drive on?
What happens to rain water after it hits the ground?
What is a landfill?
How is my water cleaned?
Who picks up my garbage?
Who clears the roads when it snows?
We will have ongoing displays and demonstrations of equipment that is used by city personnel including a recycling truck, backhoe, boom truck (claw truck), sewer line camera truck, VAC truck, large mowing equipment and sweeper truck. Educational tables will also be present with some giveaways for the public.
