Edith Brady, High Point Museum Director, recently received the Duke Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership. Twenty-six students, from across the United States and abroad, were accepted to participate in this highly competitive Program.
The Program offers high-impact training for nonprofit professionals whose leadership transforms organizations, communities, and lives. Some topics covered during the week long program included: promising practices of high-impact nonprofits, the landscape of leadership, cultivating an entrepreneurial leadership and preparing for the next generation of nonprofit leaders.
Brady has worked at the High Point Museum since 2000 and became Museum Director in July 2009. She earned her bachelor of arts in History from Queens University of Charlotte and her Master of Arts in Public History from North Carolina State University. She is an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she teaches a Museum Education Course in the graduate Public History Program.
The Program is a unit of the Duke Office of Continuing Studies. It offers affordable, practical, and accessible training, to those working in and with the nonprofit sector - whether paid staff, volunteers, philanthropists, boards, nonprofit leaders, faith-based communities, or those transitioning from the private sector. The Nonprofit Management Program integrates Duke's commitment to academic excellence with the practical wisdom of the instructors and the realistic work experience of the participants.
