[ARCHIVED] High Point Area Guilford County School (GCS) High Schools to compete in Annual Quiz Bowl

Preparing Our Youth Foundation (POYF) and Beta Kappa Kappa (BKK) Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in partnership with the High Point Museum and the African American Initiative of the United Way of Greater High Point will host the 8th Annual Black History Quiz Bowl Competition
T. Wingate Andrews, High Point Central, GTCC-­High Point, Southwest High School, Ragsdale High School and the 2017 Penn-­Griffin School of the Arts Championship team from will compete in a technology driven Black History Quiz Bowl Competition at the High Point Museum, Thursday, February 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The purpose of Black History Quiz Bowl is to help educate Guilford County students on the rich history of the African American culture as well
as to motivate them to research and learn more about US History and how it relates to the African American culture. Students are quizzed and educated on essential Black history that is age appropriate. The winner of the competition will compete in the Sixth District (North Carolina and South Carolina) of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.'s virtual state competition in March. The winner of the state competition,will travel to Charleston,
SC to compete in the Sixth District competition in April.
Mr. Pemberton (336) 560-7693 will provide (on location) direction at the museum.
