For the second year, the High Point Public Library & the High Point Museum are collaborating with Jazz at Lincoln Center to provide a free concert series. The first Tuesday from October to April (except January) from 11:45 am to 1 pm, the High Point Museum will be streaming Jazz concerts from the Lincoln Center for the public's listening pleasure.
Jazz at Lincoln Center's education department has embarked on this endeavor known as the Digital Concert Network. The Digital Concert Network is an exclusive network designed to provide free content of the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra to public libraries across the country.
Each session will be held at the High Point Museum, 1859 E. Lexington Av, and will begin with a 15-minute introduction to the concert. The audience is encouraged to bring their own lunch, as lunch will not be provided. Come listen, network, collaborate, and celebrate jazz.
The third concert entitled “Big Band Holidays” will be December 3, 2019. One of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s most beloved traditions is Big Band Holidays, celebrating the season with a swinging array of holiday classics. Master vocalists Catherine Russell and Kenny Washington join the band for this unforgettable show.
