[ARCHIVED] Lecture Planned at High Point Museum

The High Point Historical Society Monthly Guild Series will be Wednesday, February 19 at 10 a.m. at the High Point Museum, located at 1859 E. Lexington Ave. This program is free and open to the public.

Phil Miller, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, for Thayer Coggin Inc. will be the featured speaker. He will discuss the history of the company and it's the impact on the City of High Point.

Miller has been in the furniture industry for over 40 years and has extensive experience in executive management in all aspects of furniture manufacturing. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Thayer Coggin, he is responsible for the management of the company's United States and International sales force as well as directly handling the relationships with its national accounts. In addition, he has oversight of the development and implementation of Thayer Coggin's marketing strategy that insures the integrity and intrinsic value of its premium brand of modern design.

Prior to joining Thayer Coggin in September 2009, Miller was an owner of his family business, Miller Office Furniture, a manufacturer of commercial and institutional case goods and seating. Joining the company in 1976 as special assistant to his father, who founded the company in 1953, he became general manager then president and finally CEO until December 2008. Miller is a 1974 graduate of Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics.

The High Point Museum, a division of the High Point Public Library, is dedicated to sharing Greater High Point’s history, providing perspective for current issues, and strengthening the sense of community.
