The High Point Public Library will host the final event of this year’s community read project on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, at 7 pm with a virtual presentation by author Bruce Deel, who will discuss his book, “Trust First.” Information on how to watch and participate in this presentation can be found at www.HighPointNC.gov/VirtualPublicMeeting.
The author had originally planned to visit High Point to speak at the High Point Museum, but COVID protocols are keeping him in Atlanta at this time. The presentation will allow unlimited viewing access to the public. In order to ask questions and participate in the conversation at the conclusion of his talk, participants must register online at www.HighPointNC.gov/VirtualPublicMeeting. Registration for question and answer participation is limited to 100 participants.
You can also view a recent lively discussion with some of our community leaders about the novel, Trust First, written by Bruce Deel. City manager Tasha Logan Ford, Homeless Advocate Dan Hodgson, Giselle Mansi Director of the YWCA Latino Center, and Jackki Davis Executive Director of D Up talk about many of the themes like compassion, kindness, second chances, and radical trust.
“Trust First” is a community read program sponsored by the Hayden-Harman Foundation, Resilience High Point, and the High Point Public Library.
