High Point, N.C. - High Point Economic Development Corporation (High Point EDC) announces Dedicated Medical Center, a division of ChenMed, has leased 131 Greensboro Road in Five Points with plans to open a primary care facility servicing senior adults with the Medicare Advantage insurance plan. The company will invest $1.7M in upfits and create 30 new jobs over two years with an average salary of $90,339.

On April 21, N.C. Governor Roy Cooper announced Dedicated Medical Center was a recipient of the State Building Reuse Grant program for $300,000 to help renovate the space from a former grocery store into a first-class patient facility.

Based in Florida, Dedicated Medical Center is the largest family-owned, physician-led primary care provider serving the neediest and most underserved populations in the United States. The company currently has 4,300 team members who serve patients in nearly 100 locations across 12 states.

The patient model at Dedicated Medical Center is described by the company as VIP, concierge-level care with all patients attending regular monthly appointments. Appointments focus on preventative medicine and chronic illness management. Additionally, all patients receive their physician's mobile phone number.  This high-touch model helps reduce unnecessary emergency room visits and lowers hospitalization between 35% and 50%, according to company data.

The 13,219 square foot facility will receive a major renovation. On the interior, new framing and dry wall are needed along with the replacement of windows, doors, lighting, electrical, plumbing, floor, ceiling, cabinetry and countertops. On the exterior, the façade will be upgraded with paint and Dedicated Medical Center branding.

With renovations underway, the company estimates opening the High Point facility in the fourth quarter of this year.

“Dedicated Medical Center is a leader in health equity, and we welcome them to High Point,” said High Point EDC director Sandy Dunbeck.
