[ARCHIVED] High Point Museum Featured at Farmers and Arts Market

The High Point Museum will featured at the High Point Farmers and Arts Market on Saturday, August 13, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Museum will be demonstrating Quill Pen Writing. Our costumed interpreters will provide the quills and some homemade walnut ink and visitors can practice writing with a feather pen. Information regarding exhibits and programs along with High Point Museum goodies will be available.

"We feel it's important as a community museum to support other organizations," Michael Scott, Curator of Education at the Museum, said. "And we can highlight the kinds of activities you can experience at the High Point Museum."

The High Point Farmers and Arts Market is held each Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the High Point Public Library, 901 North Main Street. Local vendors offer a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and plants, as well as jewelry and other handcrafted items.

Lee Gann, local farmer and market manager, now accepts EBT payment at his produce booth at the market.

The High Point Museum, a division of the High Point Public Library, is dedicated to sharing Greater High Point’s history, providing perspective for current issues, and strengthening the sense of community.

For more information about the Farmers and Arts Market, contact Market Manager Lee Gann at 336-689-4463 or theleegann@gmail.com.
