Message from DirectorIt is not often we find ourselves in the middle of a major historical event, but here we are! It is exciting, scary, frustrating, sometimes devastating, and sometimes even inspiring. Our lives have been transformed in a matter of weeks, and there is so much uncertainty and uneasiness about when or whether we'll get back to the way things were. We learn from history that events this huge usually leave deep marks on society, and we never really return to the old normal. This experience will change us and our world. But it's important to remember that the changes won't just happen to us. As we respond to the circumstances we find ourselves in, we will actively shape them. Every day we will make choices about our attitude, words, and actions that will impact others around us, and together we will define how the coronavirus outbreak plays out in our community. Individually our experiences will be unique, but there will be common themes that resonate broadly. We're beginning to plan for how we can open our doors in some capacity to you as the virus outbreak wanes. Maintaining the health of our visitors and staff is a top consideration, so we will probably start with a modified version of the way we operated before. In the meantime our staff is working to find new ways to bring the Museum to you as much as we can remotely. We miss seeing you!

High Point COVID-19 Experience Project#weremakinghistorytogetherAs the repository for High Point history, we want to preserve pieces of this historic moment in time, so that generations from now High Pointers will understand what this period was like, and what we were feeling, thinking, seeing, and doing when everything seemed to shut-down.
In order to represent the full range of experiences in our community, we need your help. We invite you to participate in the High Point COVID-19 Experience Project by posting about how you are adapting to these times with words or photos in our Facebook group, suggesting items we should try to collect, and interviewing your family and friends.
