Director's Message

When we closed down the Museum in March, we really didn't expect that we would still be closed six months later! We appreciate all the support and encouragement we've received from you during this time. We know you have missed the Museum, and we have missed seeing you. The safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff is our greatest concern, so we have been carefully developing a re-opening plan based on current health guidelines and your feedback. Many of you recently completed our "intent to visit" survey, and in this e-newsletter we're sharing the highlights of your responses.

We have decided the safest way to re-open the Museum is in phases beginning with our historical park on Saturday, September 19. We are especially grateful to the High Point Historical Society for granting funds to bring back our historical park interpreters. We look forward to welcoming many of you a week from now. For others who do not feel comfortable visiting just yet, we haven’t forgotten you. We are continuing to post content on our website and social media each week for you to enjoy. Additionally, we have two virtual programs coming up this month you can take part in from your home. Read on for more details. This has been a year like no other, and we wish you the best as we all continue navigating through it!
