A Love Supreme Opens Labor Day Weekend! Friday, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Curated by the GRAMMY Museum®, the exhibit features 20 photographs of John Coltrane taken by the legendary cultural photographer Chuck Stewart and an alto saxophone used by the jazz musician. It is sponsored by DRIVE High Point, the High Point Historical Society, and the Friends of John Coltrane and coincides with the 10th Annual John Coltrane International Jazz & Blues Festival.

HPHS Commemorates the 20th Anniversary of 9/11Wednesday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m. & Saturday. Sept. 18 The program will highlight High Point's contributions to the aftermath of the attacks. Visitors will get to hear from a panel of local community members. An additional program will be held on Saturday, September 18 at 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the High Point Museum to celebrate our first responders.

Tools of the TradeSaturday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This mini tradeshow will highlight blacksmithing, chair caning, woodworking, and shoemaking with costumed interpreters including special guests, Jerome Bias and Mike Fox. Come learn about the tools and see them in use by our tradesmen of 18th and 19th century North Carolina. All ages welcome to this free, drop-in event.

Additional Events During the 10th Annual Coltrane Festival Weekend Take the Coltrane at Gallery on Main HP will highlight a photographic journey through the history of the Coltrane Festival. Also featured, artist Rhonda “Rhen” Neal and her Coltrane collection. Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday 12 noon to 6 pm and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 pm.
Enjoy a drop-in tour of Coltrane’s childhood home, Friday, Sept. 3, from 3 to 5 pm and Saturday, Sept. 4, from 10 am to 12 noon, located at 118 Underhill Street in High Point.
Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling artist Chris Botti, will headline opening day of the festival followed by Kurt Elling, winner of the 2021 GRAMMY Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album, who will be the featured performer Sunday, September 5.
