THIS WEEK'S COMMUNITY PARTNERS ARE:
Greater High Point Food Alliance and Family Services of the Piedmont. Visit our community partners' booths and find out all they are doing for our community.
Attention all kids ages 4 - 12
Bring your grown-up to the Farmers Market table to find out about the Power of Produce (PoP). PoP participants will receive $3 in PoP tokens each Saturday to spend at one of our food or plant vendors. You can spend them then, or save them up each week to buy something bigger...like a watermelon! You'll learn about selecting fresh and healthy food AND about saving money and planning your purchases. PLUS -- the first 25 PoP kids each Saturday will get a take home craft or activity.
The PoP program is made possible with funding from the Greater High Point Food Alliance. For more information about PoP, e-mail Sarah at sarah.nareau@highpointnc.gov. Or, you can call her at (336) 883-3667.
FYI...
The Farmers Market accepts EBT (SNAP) and offers a Double the Bucks program thanks to generous donations by Bethany Medical and the Lenny Peters Foundation.
How does Double the Bucks work? Bring your EBT card to the Farmers Market table and we'll double whatever amount you put on your EBT card. For example, $5 on your EBT card = $10 in Farmers Market tokens.
Plus -- Guilford Community Cares Network clients can use their GCCN orange cards and a photo ID to get $15 in fresh produce each Saturday.
Each Saturday, Friends of the High Point Public Library offer gently used books for sale. Hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents. All proceeds support library projects and programs.
We are dog friendly! Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome. Stop by the Farmers Market table with your pup for pats, a treat, and free poop-bag holder. All first-time doggie Market visitors will get a FREE Farmers Market bandana.
See you at the Market!
