High Point Museum Hosts 7^th Annual Ghost Stories in the Park

For the seventh year, the High Point Museum invites the entire community to Ghost Stories in the Park Saturday, October 20 from 6 pm to 8 pm which will take place rain or shine. Admission is free.
 Our professional storyteller this year is Jon Sundell. His program will include a family-centered focus on autumn, with plenty of audience participation - singing along, motions, and verbal responses. There will be stories and songs of apple picking, grandma's patchwork quilt, cows and ovens that talk, not-too-scary ghosts and witches, and other October magic.
Sundell has been performing folk tales and songs for forty-five years across the United States, Europe and Latin America - with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. He weaves together stories from many countries and cultures with folksongs accompanied on banjo, guitar, autoharp, mountain dulcimer and spoons, injecting plenty of opportunities for audience participation. His warm, personal style and varied program create an experience that is engaging, exciting and imbued with community spirit.
"This event is a crowd favorite that features activities traditionally associated with fall in our area," Edith Brady, museum director, said. "It's a nice opportunity for families and friends to spend time together and keep this heritage alive."
Participants are invited to dress in their Halloween costumes. Other activities include pumpkin decorating, a face painter, corn shuck dolls, photo booth and corn hole. Popcorn and apple cider will be for available. Bring chairs and blankets to sit and listen to the family friendly ghost stories.
